On the scale not seen anywhere else. Strict security. Saw the ceremony with lowering of Chinese flag which is a show of national pride. Everything so clean, tidy & orderly. No litter no graffiti everyone polite & respectful. The soldiers do their job. People leave you in peace. This is a place to life and breathe. And even the sparrows are so pretty!

It’s an interesting place. Very impressive and slightly intimidating with the grand and cool buildings on the flanks, the mausoleum to the south and Mao who is watching you to the north. If you’re an early bird, head here for the rising of the flag. Allow ample of time to pass security and walk all the way to the flagpole if you choose to do it. It was a pretty cool experience. The square itself isn’t too much of an attraction, however it is a good place to make a pause and think of the history and try to understand and see other perspectives.
