At Periyar Lake, see how an aquatic ecosystem thrives in one of India's best-preserved national parks. Hidden amidst the mountainous area of the Cardamom Hills, this sanctuary was formed by the construction of the dam across the Mullaperiyar River in 1895. When you reach its shores, book a boat cruise to observe the wildlife in the reserve instead of taking a guided walk. The lake harbors many species of fish, reptile, birds, and mammals, while mainly tropical and deciduous trees make up the surrounding park's surface. You can purchase tickets in the main building above the boat jetty; do so about an hour-and-a-half before the cruise.     Boating in to the deep of the nature. One of the must visit place In kerala. Try to do the boating on first trip at 7.30 or in the evening to get sight of some wild life.  more »
