Smile along with Buddha at Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya Temple, one of the largest Buddhist temples in Southeast Asia. The spacious structure is dedicated to Maitreya, the laughing Buddha. Admire the many statues inside, showing the charming Buddha smiling, having tea, and communicating with various animals. Twelve statues outside represent the animals of the Chinese zodiac, which is based on year--you can find your zodiac animal and compare characteristics. Enjoy the scenic view from the balcony, or take some memorable photos at this tranquil place. Try the diverse and delicious meals in the temple's vegetarian restaurant.
