  • Really enjoyed Prambanan temple and I’d recommend it to anyone. We came here at 3pm during November and found that it was a decent time of day to come. The temperature wasn’t too hot and there wasn’t too many people around. It was 350,000 rupiah for entry which personally I find too expensive, so it loses a star. The temple is a 5 minute walk away from the entrance gates. When we arrived in the temple area we were approached by two school girls who offered to give us a free guided tour. If you’re offered I would highly recommend it. They’re quite knowledgeable and it gives them an opportunity to practise their English. They only guide you for around 15 minutes so you have an opportunity to explore the rest of the temple by yourself. Overall the experience was great. The shrines are really interesting and with a guide the experience is engaging.
  • The highlight of my stay in Yogyakarta. Prambanan is the largest Hindu temple in Indonesia and an UNESCO world heritage site since 1991. The entire compound originally consisted of 240 temples, with the most impressive ones obviously the ones in the middle. It is still extremely well-preserved and you can spend hours walking around the buildings.
