Such an enjoyable trek, saw only 6 people so felt secluded and not touristy. Not an easy hike but definitely manageable with good footwear and there is a wooden handrail most of the way. View at the..... more »

If you are unfit, a bit worried about a bit of rock climbing/scrabbling or aren't good on steep hikes then this is not for you. We weren't expecting it to be quite so challenging even though luckily.... more »

Got there at 17.02 and was told “no” we cannot go through (even after walking all the way from town), that is closed at 5pm. With more than an hour until sunset no explanation was given. Make sure you get there before 5pm apparently (no sign indicating hours so bit of a mystery)

Fantastic view!! Would recommend renting a bike to come for 15,000 kip either in town or once you cross the bridge. Also if you want to avoid paying the bridge to cross (it’s not much but still), there’s a walking bridge shortly past the major bridge that is free & I just wheeled my bike over. Bring enough water & snacks as the hike will kick your butt. We opted to skip the first viewing and went straight to the second. It’s pretty straightforward but come prepared with good shoes.
