  • The Hermitage, an incredible museum and possibly the best or one of the best in the world. A visit to this museum is an absolute must for any tourist visiting St. Petersburg. The building itself is impressively beautiful outside and inside, and the rooms and hallways are the most decorated areas I have ever seen. Literally every square centimeter in this building is decorated and adorned, and you will be impressed with every room you walk into. Paintings and artwork in the museum are impressive too and they have some very unique pieces from different times in Russia as well as abroad. Also check out the souvenir shop near the exit, it's affordable and has some interesting items. I visited in the winter and lines were short in the morning. It probably gets very busy in the summer so I recommend visiting early right after opening or buying a ticket online to skip the long lines in the summer.
  • Hermitage is an important place to visit. We had a really long queue to stay to get in ( about 3 hours). But if you go through the arch there are several machine for the tickets which can really help you to economies your time. The best way is still to by online, then you will not need to wait at whole. Incide building itself is impressive, not saying about the expositions. Do not try to cross it whole in a one day, it is impossible.
