Do some cultural sightseeing at Pro Loco San Gimignano and Abbazia di San Miniato al Monte. Museum-lovers will get to explore Pitti Palace and Museum of Opera of Saint Maria of Fiore. Step out of Florence with an excursion to San Gimignano 1300 in San Gimignano--about 58 minutes away. On the 24th (Sun), contemplate the long history of Squero di San Trovaso, steep yourself in history at San Giorgio Maggiore, then pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica dei Frari, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Scrovegni Chapel, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Basilica di Sant’Antonio - Basilica del Santo. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Scuola Grande di San Rocco, snap pictures at Ponte dei Sospiri, contemplate the long history of Scala Contarini del Bovolo, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute, then step off the mainland to explore Isola di Burano, and finally take a stroll through Cannaregio.
