Get out of town with these interesting Reykjavik side-trips: Thingvellir (Thingvellir National Park & Galgaklettur) and Thermal Spas (in Grindavik). Often referred to as Iceland's second city, Akureyri offers an array of cultural attractions in a scenic setting.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Sun): hit the best photo ops around with an inspiring photography tour, take in nature's colorful creations at Arctic Botanical Gardens (Lystigardurinn), then see the interesting displays at The Industry Museum, and finally admire the sheer force of Goðafoss Waterfall.
