A picturesque city in the north of the country, Haifa combines history and appearances to create an interesting and relaxing destination.
Get a sense of the local culture at International Center Mary of Nazareth and Mada Tech - The Israel National Museum Of Science. Take a break from the city and head to Dado Beach and Taninim Nature Reserve. Get out of town with these interesting Haifa side-trips: Nazareth (St. Joseph Church & Megiddo National Park), Capernaum (Capharnaum the Town of Jesus, Mount of Beatitudes, & more) and Magdala (in Migdal). Get outdoors at Frishman Beach and Jerusalem Beach. Visit Independence Hall Museum and Jaffa Gate (Bab al-Khalil) for their historical value. Explore Tel Aviv's surroundings by going to Jerusalem (Ben Yehuda Street & Church of All Nations (Basilica of the Agony)). There's still lots to do: browse the eclectic array of goods at Nachlat Binyamin Pedestrian Mall, take an in-depth tour of Eretz Israel Museum Complex (Haaretz Museum), take in the waterfront at Yarkon River and Park Hayarkon, and examine the collection at Yitzhak Rabin Center.

You can take a train from Haifa to Tel Aviv in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. December in Tel Aviv sees daily highs of 67°F and lows of 54°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Mon) early enough to catch the flight to Eilat.

At the northern extreme of the Red Sea sits Eilat, a resort town popular with domestic and international tourists.
Head to Eilat Wines and Mall Hayamfor plenty of shopping. Relax by the water at Princess Beach and Mosh Beach. Getting from Tel Aviv to Eilat by flight takes about an hour. Other options: drive; or do a combination of train and bus. When traveling from Tel Aviv in December, plan for a bit warmer days in Eilat, with highs around 74°F, while nights are about the same with lows around 54°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Sat) to allow time to drive to Mitspe Ramon.

Mitspe Ramon

Founded in 1951, the small desert town of Mitspe Ramon overlooks the Ramon Crater, a massive 40 km (24 mi) long dip in the Negev desert, created by erosion and notable for its interesting rock formations.
Visiting The Alpaca Farm and Avdat National Park will get you outdoors. Appreciate the collections at Vidor Center - A window to Arava agriculture and Arava Vidor Center. Change things up with these side-trips from Mitspe Ramon: HaMakhtesh HaGadol (in Yeruham) and Peimot Midbar (in Ein Yahav). There's still lots to do: scramble along the landscape with a canyoning and rapelling tour, delve into the distant past at Nabatean Avdat Acropolis, revel in the low prices at Faran Natural Cosmetic, and contemplate the long history of Incense Route - Desert Cities in the Negev.
