Admire dynastic continuity at The Mieu Temple, an ancestral temple dedicated to ten emperors of the Nguyen dynasty located in the World Heritage Site Imperial City, Hue. Completed in 1823, the temple houses many personal belonging of Nguyen emperors. The yellow-colored roof of the temple had endings in the form of the squash blossoms and it covers altars for each emperor with their photo and gold ingots. The courtyard has nine colossal dynastic urns dedicated to nine emperors, each about 2 m (6.5 ft) in height weighing 1,900 kg to 2,600 kg (4,189 to 5,732 lbs). The central and most ornate urn is that of the dynastic founder and the yard also features statues of dragons captivated in red boxes.
