You may not know it by its relatively simple appearance, but Tanot Mata Temple played a major role in the 1965 Indo-Pakistan War. The story goes that the Pakistani Army attempted to destroy the structure by dropping a numbers of bomb, but all of them missed and the temple remained unscathed. The Indian Border Security controls the building now and operates it as a museum--step inside to view some of those unexploded bombs dropped by Pakistan.
