Topped by colorful domes and accented with countless spires, balconies, and towers, Mysuru Palace allows you to see a real royal residence up close. One of the more popular palaces to visit in the nation, the site boasts a collection of arms and armory. Once inside, you'll marvel at the lavish decorations of stained glass and bright colors, the brainchild of an English architect who rebuilt the palace in 1912. Galleries with vaulted ceilings contain artwork dating back to the days of the British Empire in India. Keep in mind that you cannot take photographs inside and will need to store your camera in one of the provided lockers before you enter. • Nicely maintained. Good staff. Organized place. I would suggest a small movie based on the historical details of the palace to make it an interesting visit

  • One of the beautiful palaces in the country. Too much crowded, go with family, have some great photo framing family pictures. Go inside if you want to view the architectural beauty of the palace otherwise stay outside because there's too much heat inside (because of crowd, govt should consider to install AC now). Nice place to visit if you are in Mysore. Interiors of this palace are amazing. You will be amazed to see this and only one question will arise in your mind..how so beautiful! How anyone can carve rocks so beautifully. A temple is also there and a garden. The washroom is there for male and the female. Wonderful light and water show by evening. That was fabulous.. You ca have a look at it despite visiting the palace in the day time..
  • The reason behind this review is that I didn't feel good seeing the way the palace is maintained and how the historical paintings, art, structure and architecture is not preserved in the way it's supposed to be. See, first of all its the only palace in Karnataka and it attracts lot of tourists around the world. My few points 1. There is no proper write up in every room to bread about or any information so that one can spend time and reread and feel the space. 2. The old painting gallery ( can't even call it a gallery) Let's say a dumping yard but kept neatly. All the royal paintings and kept randomly without a proper lighting, a neat hanging mechanism nothing. Shame 3. The ornamented inlay door leading to halls are covered with fiber sheet and nailed randomly. The beauty of the door is went into gutter. If they want to preserve the door do it in a proper way. Not nailing randomly 4 there is a lot to say 5. I didn't like it
