Admire the intricate stone carvings and various statues and shrines at Gunung Kawi Sebatu Temple. A Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu, the preserver god who rules over water, this hidden gem features grounds filled with natural springs and lotus ponds inhabited by golden carp. You can feed the fish, roam the lush forest landscape, and even drink the pure cold water from the springs. Be prepared to descend quite a lot of steps to get to the site, but once you do you will be rewarded with lovely surroundings and views of the rice fields. Note that women will need to wear a sarong, and men a sash, to enter. • An incredible complex. Set in picturesque, lush jungle and rice terraces and not overrun with people - it has a lovely calm feel. Absolutely worth a trip from Ubud - it's close to the water temple...

  • I like this place because not many tourists come. I found only local came to this place. There will be 2 entrance. One for the visitor to the temple, and one for the visitor who wanna use the public bath. If you wanna visit the temple, you need to pay the entrance fee 20K for locals and they will lend you sarong and selendang. I will comeback next time to use the public bath. It's very popular among the Balinese to bath here with the natural springs from Gunung Kawi. Make sure to bring towel and all your bath equipment.
  • A much quieter experience than Tirta Empul down the road. A peaceful grounds that you can tour in less than 30 minutes for a reasonable entrance fee. We saw some tourists participating in a ceremony so not sure what that was about. Sarongs available to borrow on site.
