Kuang Si Waterfall, Luang Prabang

Surrounded by lush tropical jungle, Kuang Si Waterfall feature a series of travertine cascades and turquoise pools. The three-tiered waterfall--the largest in the area--spills from the shallow pools on the top of a sheer hillside and then drops 60 m (200 ft) into a cluster of natural pools. Put on some sturdy shoes and climb the slippery trails on the side of the cascades to get to the top. Amenities include well-kept pathways and bridges, picnic tables, and wooden huts near the entrance where you can change into a swimsuit.
