Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park
Voted one of the new seven wonders of nature and listed as a World Heritage Site, Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is reportedly the longest navigable underground waterway on earth. The area is a designated national park and home to the diverse wildlife of bats, reptiles, primates, sea snakes, and other marine creatures. You may run into monkeys and komodo dragons resting in the lush vegetation that surrounds a small blue lagoon at the cave's mouth. Hop on a boat and embark on a journey down the river, winding through a massive cave. See sleeping bats and stalactites hanging from the ceiling like shreds of petrified drapery. In 2010, geologists discovered another level inside the cave with small waterfalls and a large dome rising 300 m (980 ft) above the water. Add Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park to your Puerto Princesa travel itinerary, and discover new vacation ideas by using our Puerto Princesa trip planner.

Everything is well organised from taking the first motorized boat to going underground with hard hat & life jacket in a quiet boat paddled by the guide who shone a torch on items of interest...

Nice experience. You have to take a small boat to get there, then walk to the entrance of the cave after checking in, then you ride another boat for the tour. It was really interesting and nice to experience. There is an audio guide and the one paddling the boat will also point out some thing during the tour. Be careful with the monkeys. They will really snatch your food and drinks if they see it.

It was one hell of an experience! The cave inside was majestic, it only has a foul smell due to the 'stuffs' produced by the bats inside the cave. I strongly advise you to wear something that can protect your skin from the drop-offs of the bats inside the cave 😊 We have footage of what's inside the cave and you may watch it on Youtube by searching: Away Together PH. Enjoy!
