Victoria & Alfred Waterfront
Take a relaxing walk along Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, a scenic harbor promenade designed in a Victorian style and featuring a variety of shops and restaurants. Named after Queen Victoria and her son, Prince Alfred, the waterfront, originally developed in the 1860s, offers postcard-like views of Table Mountain and the ocean. You can take a ride on the Ferris wheel, or just enjoy a reinvigorating walk or jog along the ocean. Boasting more than 400 stores and hailed for its exquisite dining scene, the waterfront offers visitors plenty of distractions. Using our international travel planner, Cape Town attractions like Victoria & Alfred Waterfront can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

I have visited the V&A Waterfront, for the first time at 34, while living in Cape Town all my life. This place is amazing! The harbor is huge and very atmospheric, and the shops are close by, and the smell of the ocean is amazing too. If you ever just want to relax and unwind without paying a cent, come to this place. It's huge and very nice to be there. Just remember your hat and sunblock. Enjoy.

Very nice tourist attraction with a lot to offer from Africa craft to helicopter rides (About R2000 per person) to an aquarium. Security is visible and there are a lot of eateries. Nice close up view of the yachts and do also offer fun trips on a variety of boats for about R200 per person. Visit the big wheel for a stunning view. Plenty of secure metered parking. I highly recommend to schedule a full day visit to the V&A Waterfront to see and enjoy everything.
