Sample wines and enjoy a meal at Beau Constantia, a boutique wine farm perched atop Constantia Nek. Overlooking False Bay, the farm offers fabulous vistas of fields and hills. Climb a glassy observation hut to gain sweeping views of the Stellenbosch and Helderberg mountain ranges while sipping a glass of vintage wine. Planted at 350 m (1,148 ft) above sea level, the vines here grow on some of the steepest slopes in the Cape. Silver leaf trees, proteas, and a number of other autochthonous plants have been reintroduced here in order to fight invasive foreign species. Have a meal at the glass-walled restaurant, which provides memorable panoramas. Beautiful grounds and really tasty wines. We also got the wine tasting platter that had cheese, meats and crackers too. It was raining and chilly the day we went but inside is beautiful cause they have full windows that overlook the scenery. And they also have a loo with a view, how amazing to have a view while going to the bathroom! The staff was also really nice and they do have a restaurant downstairs with a fixed menu but you do need a reservation.

Great wine, great view. Disappointing service, 3 times in a row. Some examples: 1) “We can’t bring a big bottle of water (1.5L) from upstairs to your table of 16 people. You can only order small bottles.” 2) “We can’t give adults stemmed wine glasses outside, they might blow over.” 3) “We can’t bring your 80-year old grandfather a beer even though you’ve spent a fortune on a party here. We’ve just cashed up. Sorry.” It was 7pm. It’s like this farm doesn’t care about customer service. Can’t say it was an isolated case either as we’ve had poor service on 3 separate occasions, in a row. Staff is inexperienced and unaccommodating. Pity, their wine is good. Rather go to another wine farm in the valley. We won’t be back.
