Singapore, Singapore to Cape Town is an approximately 17-hour flight. The time zone changes from Singapore Standard Time to South Africa Standard Time, which is usually a -6 hour difference. When traveling from Singapore in April, plan for little chillier days in Cape Town, with highs around 28°C, while nights are much colder with lows around 14°C. Getting from Cape Town to Plettenberg Bay by flight takes about 3 hours. Other options: drive; or take a bus. In May, daytime highs in Plettenberg Bay are 24°C, while nighttime lows are 15°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 8th (Mon) so you can catch the flight to Hoedspruit.

Hoedspruit offers proximity to Kruger National Park and features an airport, making it a popular jump-off point for a variety of tours and safaris.

Traveling by flight from Plettenberg Bay to Hoedspruit takes 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Plettenberg Bay in May, you will find days in Hoedspruit are a bit warmer (28°C), and nights are about the same (15°C). Finish up your sightseeing early on the 15th (Mon) so you can catch the flight to Johannesburg.

Founded when gold was discovered in the area in the late 19th century, Johannesburg quickly grew into a bustling metropolis, South Africa's largest city and the region's economic hub.

Kids will enjoy Apartheid Museum and Acrobranch Melrose. Do some cultural sightseeing at Constitution Hill Human Rights Precinct and Sterkfontein Cave. Step out of Johannesburg with an excursion to Lion and Safari Park in Broederstroom--about 52 minutes away. Spend the 19th (Fri) trying your luck at Gold Reef City. There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Mandela House, wander the streets of Maboneng Precinct, have some family-friendly fun at Orlando Towers, and don't miss a visit to South Western Townships.
