A major trading city in the mountains, Taunggyi offers good access to the plains and hills of the state.You'll find plenty of places to visit near Taunggyi: Nyaungshwe (Gallery 19, Red Mountain Estate Vineyards & Winery, &more) and Pindaya Caves (in Pindaya). There's still lots to do: delve into the distant past at Indein Village, stroll through Floating Gardens, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Hpaung Daw U Pagoda.
