Fukuoka — 1 night

The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
Kick off your visit on the 8th (Sun): wander the streets of Nishijin Shopping District, then browse the different shops at JR Hakata City Amu Plaza Hakata, and then explore the world behind art at Fukuoka Asian Art Museum.

Boracay, Philippines to Fukuoka is an approximately 10.5-hour combination of ferry and flight. The time zone difference moving from Philippine Standard Time to Japan Standard Time is 1 hour. In August, plan for daily highs up to 38°C, and evening lows to 29°C. On the 9th (Mon), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Nagasaki.

Nagasaki — 1 night

The hilly port city of Nagasaki has become known internationally as one of the two Japanese cities to be destroyed by an atomic bomb towards the close of World War II. This history, of course, remains important to the city, its inhabitants, and to the wider world, and should not be forgotten.
Kick off your visit on the 9th (Mon): wander the streets of Shinchi Chinatown.

You can drive from Fukuoka to Nagasaki in 2.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or take a bus. In August, daily temperatures in Nagasaki can reach 38°C, while at night they dip to 30°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Tue) early enough to take a train to Hiroshima.

Kick off your visit on the 10th (Tue): look for gifts at Miyajima Omotesando Shopping Street and then step off the mainland to explore Miyajima. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 11th (Wed): step into the grandiose world of Hiroshima Castle, then contemplate the long history of Atomic Bomb Dome, then contemplate the long history of Peace Memorial Park - Hiroshima, and finally take an in-depth tour of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.

Traveling by train from Nagasaki to Hiroshima takes 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and train; or drive. In August in Hiroshima, expect temperatures between 36°C during the day and 29°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
