Reykjavik, the world's most northerly capital, effortlessly combines small-town charm with heaps of big city energy.
Venture out of the city with trips to Thingvellir (Thingvellir National Park & Thingvallakirkja church). Next up on the itinerary: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Hallgrimskirkja, take an in-depth tour of National Museum of Iceland, trot along with a tour on horseback, and pause for some photo ops at Sun Voyager.

Blaskogabyggd — 1 night

A conglomeration of several districts, Blaskogabyggd encompasses a handful of settlements totaling around 930 people in southwestern Iceland.
Start off your visit on the 16th (Sat): admire the sheer force of Bruarfoss Waterfall, then admire the sheer force of Faxi (Vatnsleysufoss) Waterfall, then take in the dramatic scenery at Gullfoss Falls, and finally witness a stunning natural landmark at Strokkur.

Drive from Reykjavik to Blaskogabyggd in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In November, daytime highs in Blaskogabyggd are 5°C, while nighttime lows are 0°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sat) so you can go by car to Vik.

Iceland's southernmost village, Vik, sports some of the country's wildest and most dramatic coastline.
Get out of town with these interesting Vik side-trips: Gljufrabui Waterfalls (in Skogar), UNA Local Product (in Hvolsvollur) and Seljalandsfoss - Waterfall (in Hella). The adventure continues: take in the dramatic scenery at Skogafoss, tour the pleasant surroundings at Black Sand Beach, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Reyniskirkja Church, and make a trip to Dyrhólaey.
