Garden City of the East
Although Myanmar moved its capital to Naypyidaw in 2005, Yangon remains the largest city and commercial hub in the country.Visiting Inya Lake and Kyauktan will get you outdoors. You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like National Museum and Botahtaung Pagoda. Go for a jaunt from Yangon (Rangoon) to Pabedan to see Bogyoke Aung San Market about 40 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: appreciate the history behind Shwedagon Pagoda, see the interesting displays at Myanmar Gems Museum, explore the different monuments and memorials at Taukkyan War Cemetery, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Nga Htat Gyi Pagoda.
